What do you want from yoga?

At 20 years old, for me it was ‘flexibility’ – one of the most popular reasons new students tend to give. With a young baby at home I loved the precious ‘me time’ on my mat. I enjoyed feeling my body in the poses and flow, and the sense of calm I gained by the end of the class.

During the next decade I moved a lot and sought out different yoga classes wherever I was. Initially, I was drawn to dynamic yoga - I enjoyed the challenge and the natural high that an energetic practice resulted in. Yoga made me feel better, and through the years helped me recover from injuries sustained from my various sports. I soaked up every yoga experience I could, like a sponge.

My practice over the years began to transform to include yin and restorative poses, meditation, mindfulness, breathing practices. When I moved to Cardiff, around 17 years ago, I was lucky to discover some amazing teachers, Natasha Marchant, Danielle Nicholls, Ray Hassan, Kalpana Tagore, Padmasihma, and as my children grew older, yoga became a big part of my life. I studied the BWY Foundation course with Danielle, and decided to complete my teacher training with Yoga Alliance.

What do I get from yoga?

Yoga brings me calmness of mind, access to my inner self, heart opening compassion and joy and makes my body sing!

About Roz

I have been practising yoga for over 20 years and love how time spent on my yoga mat inevitably makes me feel better - happier, calmer and connected.

I have experienced how yoga can help you not only become stronger physically, but also mentally and emotionally.

My classes give you the time and space to explore and enjoy Hatha yoga poses, breathing awareness, meditation and restorative relaxation.

I have studied with the British Wheel of Yoga the Yoga Alliance and also Mindfulness with Vishvapani Blomfield at the Cardiff Buddhist centre.

I am a certified Yoga Alliance teacher, a qualified first-aider and I am CRB (DBS) checked.
